NEWARK, Del. — Tiny Gallon rebounded a missed jumper by Bo Spencer and put it in with 1.6 seconds left to lift the Delaware 87ers (9-25) to a 100-98 win over the Maine Red Claws (13-17) on Monday night in front of 1,306 at the Bob Carpenter Sports Convocation Center.

Gallon finished with game-high totals of 32 points and 16 rebounds, including pulling down eight offensive rebounds.

The Red Claws were paced by Daniel Orton’s 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Gaines added 15 points and Tyshawn Taylor scored 14 for the Red Claws, who shot 36 percent from the floor.

Maine led by as many as 18 points in the first half before Delaware cut the deficit to 47-40 at halftime, a lead the 87ers erased with an 8-0 run to open the second half.

The Red Claws responded with an 8-0 run to regain the lead and did not trail again until Delaware took a 94-93 lead on a 3-pointer by Damian Saunders with 3:10 left in the game.

Trailing 98-96, Maine tied the game on Abdul Gaddy’s layup with just over a minute left and got the ball back following a steal by Gaddy.

But Frank Gaines and Gaddy each missed 3-pointers and Gaddy also had a layup blocked before Gallon’s winning bucket.
