Boys' Soccer: Scarborough is 9-1, shutting out Blazes

SCARBOROUGH - Matt Caron, Wyatt Omsberg and Sam Cekada scored Saturday as Scarborough shut out Westbrook 3-0 in an SMAA schoolboy soccer game.

Pat Stanton made two saves to record the shutout for the Red Storm (9-1). Austin Blake finished with 16 saves for the Blue Blazes (4-6-2).

GREELY 2, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Aidan Black scored in the first half, then set up Matt Crowley's goal in the second, leading the Rangers (9-1-2) past the Capers (2-5-4) at Cumberland.

Alex McAdoo recorded the shutout with seven saves. Austin Andrews stopped 11 shots for Cape Elizabeth.

YARMOUTH 1, KENNEBUNK 0: Wyatt Jackson scored off a cross from Adam LaBrie with less than 10 minutes remaining to lift the Clippers (9-0-3) over the Rams (5-4-3) at Yarmouth.

Alex Lyon made a single save for the shutout. Ben Wilson had five saves for Kennebunk.

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 3, BUCKFIELD 1: Ethan Spaulding scored the eventual winner with 15 minutes left in the first half and finished with two goals and an assist to lead the Lions (8-3-1) past the Bucks (6-5-1) at South Portland.

Jeremiah Hammond also scored and James Rudolph added an assist for Greater Portland Christian.

WINSLOW 2, NOKOMIS 1: Connor Wildes scored with two minutes left in overtime to lead the Black Raiders (9-0-2) over Nokomis (4-8) at Winslow.

Evan Clark had an assist on the winner, which came on a corner kick.

Taylor Roy scored an unassisted goal with a minute left in regulation to tie the game for the Raiders. Alex Berard made four saves.

Calvin Warren scored on a penalty kick for Nokomis. Nate Buck had 24 saves.


FREEPORT 3, TRAIP ACADEMY 1: Addison Vosmus, Jack Davenport and Nick Wilson scored for the Falcons (4-6-1) versus Traip (3-8-1) at Freeport.

NYA 10, LAKE REGION 0: D.J. Nicholas had three goals and seven others scored for the Panthers (12-0) against the Lakers (0-12) at Yarmouth.
