BOSTON — Red Sox left fielder Carl Crawford's rehabilitation assignment has been put on hold because of a mild groin strain.

Boston manager Bobby Valentine said Saturday that Crawford felt something when he was rounding second on a triple Thursday for Double-A Portland.
Crawford has missed the entire season while recovering from an injured left wrist.
