COLLEGE: The Black Bears received commitments from eight players: Cam Brown of Natick, Mass.; Blain Byron of Manotick, Ontario; Brady Campbell of Boenheim, Ontario; Zach Glienke of Eagan, Minn.; Josh Henke of Trenton, Mich.; Brian Morgan of Windham, N.H.; Daniel Renouf of Pickering, Ontario; and Eric Schurhamer of St. Paul, Minn.


JUNIOR LEGION: The final four teams will play for the championship in a double-elimination tournament at Hadlock Field in Portland running Thursday through Sunday.

Westbrook will face Bruno's at 11 a.m., followed by South Portland vs. Fairfield at 2 p.m. Admission is free.

NECBL: Anthony Papio hit an RBI single and scored on Nate LaPointe's double as the Sanford Mainers (18-22) scored twice in the fifth at home to take a 3-0 lead and held on for a 4-2 win over the New Bedford Bay Sox (19-23).

FCBL: Chris Hoyt went 3 for 5 with two runs and two RBI, and T.J. Lynch had two hits and three RBI to pace the Seacoast Mavericks (19-25) in a 10-2 win over the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide (21-23) at The Ballpark.
