Maine women's soccer stays unbeaten with 2-1 win over Central Connecticut

Eve L'Abbe and Maggie Malone scored goals to give the University of Maine women's soccer team a 2-1 victory over Central Connecticut State University on Tuesday at Orono.

Maine (3-0) took a 1-0 lead at 14:26 of the first half. L'Abbe received the ball outside the box, took a few strides and fired into the net, just below the crossbar. The Black Bears extended their lead at 21:44 of the second half when Malone received a pass in her offensive zone, found a wide-open lane to the goal and shot into the right corner.

Kerriann Welch's goal for the Blue Devils (0-2) with 3:28 left in the game was the first allowed by Maine this season.
