There’s another Hart lacing up his skates for Greely High School.

Teddy Hart, a sophomore center, is the last of three Hart brothers to play for the Rangers.

His older brothers, Kevin and Brian, played crucial roles when Greely won the Class B state championship in 2009.

Kevin Hart, who did a prep school season at Phillips Exeter Academy, is now a sophomore defenseman at Providence College.

Brian Hart, a forward at Exeter, recently signed a letter of intent to play for Harvard next season.

“I would like to follow in either Brian or Kevin’s footsteps, and maybe eventually try to go to Phillips Exeter and hopefully look to play college hockey somewhere,” Hart said.

Right now, he seems more concerned about helping Greely win hockey games than in his personal development as a hockey player.

“So far we’re playing well, and I think it’s going to be a real good season for us,” said Hart, who centers Greely’s second line with freshman Reid Howland and senior Ben Hackett on the wings.

Despite their unbeaten record, the Rangers (3-0-1) are ranked fourth in Western Class B in the most recent Heal point standings.

Hart has paid close attention as his two older brothers progressed into the Division I college ranks.

“Growing up with them and seeing what my brothers have accomplished in high school, I learned a lot,” he said. “What’s been successful for them. What’s not been successful for them.”

Although hockey remains Hart’s passion, he continues to play soccer and baseball for Greely when those sports are in season.

“I think working with the soccer ball in the fall with my feet helps me with moving the puck with my feet when we play hockey,” he said.

“Even the hand-eye coordination playing baseball helps with hockey in batting the puck out of the air and stuff.”

Greely Coach Barry Mothes, who has coached all three brothers, is impressed with the youngest Hart’s development as a hockey player.

“Ted was a very poised and skilled player as a freshman forward last season,” Mothes said.

“Since last March, he has improved and grown some physically, which has only helped his game. He is a very strong, pure skater, and he has excellent puck skills and a very impressive wrist and quick snap shot for someone who is still growing and maturing. … He sees things and creates things in practice and in games that put him in a very rare category for a player of his age.”

“This is our inaugural year for the Camden Hills Hockey Invitational … and we hope to make this event an annual hockey tradition,” said Camden Hills Coach Karl Enroth.

“One of the main goals for the hockey invitational is to provide a competitive and fun hockey event, and emphasizing sportsmanship and camaraderie for everyone during these holidays.”

The six-team round-robin tournament includes host Camden Hills, Cony of Augusta, Bonny Eagle of Standish, the MHW Hawks junior varsity from the Maranacook, Hall-Dale and Winthrop co-op squad, the Midcoast Ice Cats club team and the California Wave Midget A team of Artesia, Calif.
