SACO – Thornton Academy scored the first 19 points of the second half Wednesday night and went on to a 39-32 victory against Gorham in an SMAA schoolgirl basketball game.

Olivia Shaw scored 14 points for the Trojans (4-2), who trailed 25-16 at halftime.

Kristin Ross scored nine points to pace Gorham (3-4), which opened on a 12-0 run.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 27, ST. DOMINIC 25: Samantha Richards scored 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lift the Phoenix (7-0) over the Saints (3-2) at Livermore Falls.

DEERING 50, KENNEBUNK 21: Marissa MacMillan scored 15 points, Alexis Stephenson 12 and Chelsea Saucier 10 as Deering (8-0) dominated Kennebunk (1-6) at Portland.

Deering led 26-3 at the half and 46-5 before Kennebunk went on a 16-4 run in the final quarter.

MCAULEY 72, WINDHAM 32: Allie Clement scored 21 points to go with 10 rebounds, six steals and four assists for the Lions (7-0), who took a 22-6 first-quarter lead and cruised past the Eagles (3-4) at Portland.

Olivia Smith added 15 points for McAuley. Jackie Welch finished with 10.

MARSHWOOD 59, MASSABESIC 32: Megan McLean and Gianna Riccardi scored 10 points apiece to lead the Hawks (2-5) over the Mustangs (1-6) at South Berwick.

Jolena Lampron paced Massabesic with 11 points.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 55, RICHMOND 48: Abigail Dubois scored 14 points to lead a balanced offense for the Seagulls (4-2) against Richmond (4-2) at Old Orchard Beach.

BRUNSWICK 58, ERSKINE ACADEMY 45: Julia Champagne scored 19 points and Lauren Carlton added 15 — both career highs — as the Dragons (1-7) defeated Erskine Academy (0-7) at Brunswick.

SANFORD 54, NOBLE 27: Morgan Fogg, Heather LeBlanc and Taylor Littlefield scored 11 points apiece as the Spartans (5-1) pulled away from the Knights (0-8) at Sanford.

CHEVERUS 76, BONNY EAGLE 48: Georgia Ford scored eight consecutive points early in the second period on two free throws and a pair of 3-pointers to pace a 21-9 run that helped Cheverus (7-0) down Bonny Eagle (1-7) at Standish.

MT. ARARAT 59, LEWISTON 39: Caitlyn LaFountain scored 14 of her 29 points in the first half as the Eagles (7-0) opened a 29-20 lead against Lewiston (2-5) in Topsham.

OCEANSIDE 39, WATERVILLE 36: Hannah Plourde led a balanced offense with nine points as the Mariners (7-1) held off the Purple Panthers (1-6) at Waterville.

PORTLAND 34, BIDDEFORD 32: Brianna Holdren scored 22 points to lead the Bulldogs (2-6) over Biddeford (1-7) at Portland.
