The basketball season may be a marathon, but for defending Class B champion Yarmouth High School, Monday’s first day of practice still entailed plenty of sprints that should help keep the Clippers in shape for the long season ahead.
The rhythmic cadence of basketballs being dribbled could be heard in gyms all over the state. Swimming, hockey, track and wrestling also got started.
At McAuley, the girls' basketball team began the first of many practices which the Lions hope leads to another state title in March. The Yarmouth boys' basketball team began defense of its Class B crown.
When late February and early March arrive, we'll know which teams in all sports were the most successful. Stay tuned.
