SACO – Reuben Moses scored 17 points Friday night, and Thornton Academy pulled away in the fourth quarter to send Portland to its first loss, earning a 64-52 victory in an SMAA schoolboy basketball game at Linnell Gymnasium.

Thornton (7-5) trailed 47-44 through three quarters before taking charge, grabbing its final lead midway through the quarter and shooting 9 of 12 from the foul line to pull away.

The Trojans also got 16 points from Quinn Richardson-Newton, 15 from Jeff Gelinas and 11 from Malcolm Dopwell. Nick Volger scored 20 and Justin Zukowski had 13 for Portland. (10-1)

BONNY EAGLE 87, KENNEBUNK 57: Dustin Cole scored 50 points to break a school record and also passed 1,000 for his career as the Scots (10-2) downed the Rams (1-11) at Kennebunk.

Cole, a junior, had 17 field goals, including six 3-pointers, and 10 foul shots. He reached 1,000 points in the first quarter when he scored 15. He added 19 in the third as the Scots opened a 68-35 lead.

Benjamin Malloy had 10 points for Bonny Eagle.

Hank Lapham and Austin Sandler finished with 10 points apiece for the Rams.

DEERING 49, WESTBROOK 41: Labson Abwoch scored 18 points and Ahmed Ali added 10 for Deering (11-1), which took a 29-23 halftime lead and held off the Blue Blazes (9-3) at Westbrook.

Zachery Bean scored 14 points and Keenan Lowe had 10 for Westbrook.

WINDHAM 67, CHEVERUS 47: Dylan Weisser scored 16 points to lead a balanced offense for the Eagles (4-8) against the Stags (3-8) at Windham.

Thomas McGowan had 12 points and five assists, Joe Francouer added 10 points and five assists, Connor Flynn scored 12 points and Shawn Francouer 11 for Windham.

BRUNSWICK 62, CONY 52: Blake Gordon scored nine of his 20 points in the third quarter to help the Dragons (8-4) rally past Cony (4-8) at Brunswick.

The Dragons trailed 30-24 at halftime but put up 22 points in the third, when Brad Smith scored six of his 14 points. Konnor Scarponi finished with 13.

Zachary Lachance led Cony with 15 points.

SOUTH PORTLAND 62, GORHAM 48: Tanner Hyland hit four 3-pointers in the second half to help South Portland (10-2) pull away from a 25-25 halftime tie and defeat the Rams (4-8) at Gorham.

Hyland scored 24 points and Jaren Muller added 14 for the Red Riots.

Jonathan Woods scored 11 points for the Rams.

MARSHWOOD 60, NOBLE 55: Alex McLean scored all 10 of his points in the second half as Marshwood (4-8) edged Noble (4-8) at South Berwick.

McLean hit a 3-pointer with three minutes left to put the Hawks up by five.

Brady Innes led Marshwood with 21 points; Brady Dode scored 17. Grayson Waterman scored 21 points for the Knights.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 77, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 45: Quincy Grace had 18 points and seven rebounds, and Joe Gildard scored 15 points to help the Seagulls (6-4) down the Panthers (4-8) at Old Orchard Beach.

Jim Strohm added 10 points and 10 rebounds for Old Orchard.

SANFORD 77, MASSABESIC 46: Ryan Camire scored 25 points as the Spartans (6-6) beat the Mustangs (1-11) at Sanford.

Evyn Nolette added 22 points with four 3-pointers for Sanford.

SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 47, RICHMOND 40: Silas Thompson scored 11 points and was 9 of 11 at the foul line to lead Seacoast Christian (6-5) against Richmond (5-8) at South Berwick.

Seacoast scored 20 points at the line and was 12 of 16 in the fourth quarter. Thompson went 6 of 6 down the stretch.

WELLS 76, FREEPORT 59: Jake Moody scored 23 points as the Warriors (9-3) beat the Falcons (1-10) at Freeport.

Dylan Stevens added 20 points and Chris Carney scored 13 for Wells.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 75, SACOPEE VALLEY 28: Walker-James Mallory scored 20 points and Bright Amoako added 19 as the Raiders (4-8) upended the Hawks (0-11) at South Hiram.

Ryan Gullikson chipped in 12 points for Fryeburg.

SCARBOROUGH 60, BIDDEFORD 47: Kevin Manning and Sam Terry each scored 11 points in the first half to help the Red Storm (7-5) take a 36-25 lead against the Tigers (4-8) at Scarborough.

Manning finished with 23 points and Terry had 14. Cam Nadeau paced Biddeford with 21.

EDWARD LITTLE 74, MT. ARARAT 57: Sean Ford scored 20 points for Edward Little (11-1) against Mt. Ararat (5-7) at Topsham.

Nate Alexander and Quinn Leary added 11 points each for the Eddies.

WAYNFLETE 71, TRAIP ACADEMY 59: Serge Nyirikamba and Jack Cutler each had 18 points to lead the Flyers (11-1) over the Rangers (4-7) at Portland.

The Flyers broke it open with a 17-2 run in the second quarter for a 35-13 lead.

YARMOUTH 54, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 38: David Murphy scored nine of his 13 points in the first quarter as Yarmouth (6-6) opened a 20-5 lead against the Patriots (2-9) at Gray.

Christian Henry also had 13 points for the Clippers.

YORK 53, GREELY 33: Aaron Todd poured in 18 points to lift the Wildcats (11-1) over the Rangers (7-5) at York.

Zach Leal added 11 and Michael Gallagher scored 10 for York, which opened a 17-2 first-quarter lead.

Michael McDevitt paced Greely with 12 points.
