ORONO – Justin Leisen-heimer scored from first base on a misplayed grounder in the last inning Saturday to give the University of Maine a 6-5 victory over Binghamton in the first game of an America East baseball doubleheader.

The Black Bears (29-22, 18-6 America East) completed the sweep with a 7-2 victory as Leisenheimer hit his team-high seventh home run. Tyler Patzalek and Colin Gay each hit two-run singles as Maine broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning of its regular-season finale.

Leisenheimer had a combined four hits, three RBI and two runs scored. Shaun Coughlin earned both wins with a combined four innings of scoreless relief.

Maine tied the first game 5-5 in the sixth. Alex Calbick doubled to left field and moved to third on Ian Leisenheimer’s sacrifice before scoring on a passed ball.

Maine earned the No. 2 seed in the America East tournament and will face No. 3 Binghamton (21-26, 13-10) in the first round Wednesday at Stony Brook, N.Y.
