GORHAM – Tyler Leavitt struck out three batters and walked one while tossing an eight-hitter for the University of Southern Maine (22-3) which routed Endicott (19-11), 7-0.

Anthony Pisani had three hits and drove in a pair of runs to pace a 13-hit attack for the Huskies.

ST. JOSEPH’S 8, COLBY 2: Alex Valenti pitched seven strong innings to help St. Joseph’s College (21-9) rout Colby College (7-13) at Waterville. Valenti recorded three strikeouts, walked one and allowed two earned runs while improving his record to 4-0.

Joe Coyne led the offense with three hits, including a two-run homer. Coyne also scored twice and finished with three RBI. Sam Butts helped the cause with two doubles, two runs and two RBI for the Monks.

BATES 11, GORDON 1: Kevin Davis went 2 for 3 with three RBI and one run scored as the Bobcats (10-11) cruised over the Fighting Scots (16-11) at Lewiston.

Ryan Sonberg and Mekae Hyde chipped in with three hits apiece for the Bobcats.

SOFTBALL

CENTRAL MAINE C.C. 12, SOUTHERN MAINE C.C. 9: Ashley Dorey had two hits, drove in two runs and scored three times to lead the Mustangs (1-7, 1-7) to a Yankee Small College Conference win over the Seawolves (6-14, 6-6) at South Portland.

Roberta Trafton went 2 for 3 with a walk and two runs scored to pace the Seawolves.

SOUTHERN MAINE SPLITS WITH BATES: Stefanie Stockwell and Kristen Duross each homered for the Huskies (6-24) who scored the first five runs and held on for a 5-4 win over the Bobcats (7-11) in the opening game of a doubleheader at Gorham.

Southern Maine starter Jesse Hutchins allowed just one earned run to earn the win.

In game two, AnneMarie Martino sparked a four-run eighth inning with an RBI double to lead the Bobcats to a 5-2 victory.

Kelsey Freedman struck out eight to earn the win for Bates.

MEN’S LACROSSE

PLYMOUTH STATE 10, SOUTHERN MAINE 7: Zach Frank scored three goals to help Plymouth State College (7-2, 3-1) down the University of Southern Maine (5-8, 1-3) at Gorham.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

ST. JOSEPH’S 19, ST. JOSEPH (CONN.) 12: Anneka Adame scored three of her four goals in the first half as the Monks (10-5, 6-2) raced to a 13-5 lead and held on for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference win over the Blue Jays (3-8, 1-7) at Deering High School.

Victoria Tenenbaum and Kirstin McCombs added three goals apiece for the Monks.

BATES 13, TUFTS 9: Emma Brinkman and Emma Getsinger scored three goals each to lift the Bobcats (5-6, 3-5) over the Jumbos (6-6, 2-6) at Lewiston.
