High school roundup: Windham tops Biddeford in girls' soccer

BIDDEFORD - Ciera Berthiaume and Jenna Soucy each scored two goals Wednesday to lead Windham to a 5-0 victory against Biddeford in a Southern Maine Activities Association schoolgirl soccer game.

Jordan Symonds also scored for the Eagles (4-0). Olivia Curtis made 12 saves for Biddeford (2-2).

GORHAM 1, DEERING 0: Kali St. Germain delivered the winning goal in overtime as Gorham (2-2) edged visiting Deering (3-1).

Lee Ann Downs finished with 13 saves for Deering. Marissa Roberts made seven stops for Gorham.

LISBON 5, BOOTHBAY REGION 2: Kayla Angelico scored two of her four goals in the first half as the Greyhounds (3-0-1) took a 3-0 lead against the Seahawks (1-5) at Lisbon Falls.

Rachel Ball also scored and Courtney Martel stopped five shots for Lisbon.

Abby McLellan scored both Boothbay goals. Mikayla McFetridge made 17 saves.

THORNTON ACADEMY 3, MASSABESIC 1: Tori Daigle and Amanda Arnold scored second-half goals to lift the Golden Trojans (4-0) over the Mustangs (1-3) at Waterboro.

Hannah Sleight gave Massabesic the lead before Alyssa Gilbert evened it four minutes before halftime.

Emily Richard made 12 saves for Thornton; Gemma Lundrigan had 14 for Massabesic.

CHEVERUS 11, NOBLE 0: Abby Maker scored five goals and Mikayla Mayberry made five saves as the Stags (4-0) beat the Knights (1-3) at North Berwick.

SCARBOROUGH 3, PORTLAND 0: Jessica Meader scored two goals, and Sarah Martens had a goal and an assist as the Red Storm (4-0) handled the Bulldogs (1-3) at Portland.

Ashley Ronzo and Taylor LeBorgne each had an assist.

Mashale Nabi and Zoe Riviera combined for 17 saves for Portland.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 2, WISCASSET 0: Kylie Kemp and Melissa Brassard scored to lift the Mustangs (6-0) over Wiscasset (3-2-1) at Monmouth.

Kemp scored on a penalty kick in the 21st minute.

Adriana Gonzalez collected the shutout.

Kayla Gordon had eight saves for the Wolverines.

FIELD HOCKEY

CAPE ELIZABETH 6, TRAIP ACADEMY 0: Hailey Petsinger had two goals and an assist to help the Capers (3-2) beat the Rangers (2-2) at Cape Elizabeth.

Abby McInerney and Lauren Steidl each added a goal and an assist. Jane Coffrin and Aubrey O'Meara also scored.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 3, GREELY 1: Skye Dole scored twice as the Raiders (5-0) took a 2-0 lead against the Rangers (1-4) at Fryeburg.

Ellen Bacchiocchi also scored for Fryeburg.

Jessica Wilson scored and Leah Dixon made 14 saves for Greely.

YORK 2, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 0: Taylor Simpson scored with 24 minutes left, then set up a goal by Tori Stocks with 12 minutes remaining to lead the Wildcats (5-1) past the Panthers (3-1) at Yarmouth.

Amanda Kasbohm made eight saves for York; Elizabeth Coughlin had eight for NYA.

LAKE REGION 3, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Lucy Fowler had a goal and an assist as the Lakers (5-0) scored three times in the final 17 minutes to beat the Hawks (1-5) at South Hiram.

Kayla Reinhard and Elizabeth Schreiber also scored, and Meghan VanLoan made two saves for the shutout.

Chloe Ronco stopped 14 shots for Sacopee Valley.

YARMOUTH 2, WAYNFLETE 1: Katie Overhaug had a goal and an assist, and Emma Peterson scored the winner as the Wildcats (5-1) edged the Flyers (2-2) at Portland.

Nyanen Ceng scored and Katherine Torrey made 12 saves for Waynflete.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 3, WINTHROP 2: Erin Gats scored with a minute left in overtime as the Phoenix (5-1) beat the Ramblers (5-1) at Jay.

Kelsey Stoneton scored with six minutes left in regulation from Liz Glover as Winthrop made it 2-2.

The Ramblers took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Rachel Ingram in the first half, before Spruce Mountain scored back-to-back goals to tie it. Gats scored with two seconds left in the first half and Nicole Hamblin midway through the second for Spruce Mountain.

VOLLEYBALL

GORHAM 3, YARMOUTH 0: Kaitlyn Seehusen had seven aces, 15 assists and 14 service points, and Lexi Merrifield added six kills and three blocks as the Rams (4-0) beat the Clippers (4-1) at Yarmouth.

Sam Robinson added eight serve receives and five digs.

Gina Robertson led the Clippers with nine service points. Maddy Mairhofer had 11 kills.

TUESDAY'S FIELD HOCKEY

WESTBROOK 6, BIDDEFORD 0: Ally Lemay scored twice to lead Westbrook (3-2) over the Tigers (2-3) at Westbrook.
