The Windham Drifters Snowmobile Club on Sunday dedicated a bridge the club built last year over the Pleasant River, honoring those who donated to or helped with the project.

The bridge has been “in the making” for more than three years. The landowners, the Halls and the Babbs, gave the Windham Drifters permission to put the bridge over the river.

The bridge is made of structural steel girders, and a wooden platform. It is 90 feet long, not counting the approach ramps. This bridge prevents the many snowmobilers, who ride our club’s 40 miles of groomed trails, from riding quite a distance on the shoulder of extremely busy Route 302.

The bridge cost almost $40,000 and thanks to the many generous businesses and individuals in the Windham area, it was officially opened on Sunday, March 20.
