Scarborough resident Harvey Warren is opening his land on Payne Road to allow residents a chance to walk their dogs on Saturday, April 16, beginning at noon.
Warren said this is the first time he has opened the land to the public for this purpose and is not sure if it will be a regular event, saying that it will depend on the reaction.
“We don’t have any plan at all and the public will speak if they want to do it or not,” he said.
Warren has a lot of open space at the property, located at 371 Payne Road. He said the idea just came to him, but added that one of the main reason why he chose to do it was to help reduce the number of dogs on the beach. There is no set time when the event will end.
“This is the season people like to go out,” he said.
