Dear editor,

Change and Progress are at the height of discussion in our community, whether it be buildings, taxes, schools or business growth/demise. The cause for the talk recently seemed to be the piece on the educational references/home life of the current Superintendent in the Road Runner and the coming “Changes and Progress.”

I have heard many voices both for and against these changes in the store, hardware, post office and parking lots of our town.

There are many ways to obtain information. Principals and teachers send home newsletters. The children and community are speaking now. Not about themselves either. They speak about the kids who come after them that need the help provided by social services.

As a community we don’t speak about the suicide attempt last year. What else are the kids not talking about? We have all been in a place where communication with a parent is difficult at best.

I would ask that the Superintendent put out her own newsletter. Perhaps she should provide an accounting for the administrative costs vs. the loss of a system that has the heart, hearing, guidance, and love of a perfectly good parent.
