An AARP Driver Safety Course for drivers 50 years of age and older will be presented at the Walker Memorial Library, 800 Main St., Westbrook, on Monday, June 13 and Tuesday, June 14 from 1-5 p.m. on each of the two dates. Participants must attend both sessions to complete the course.

Registration fee is $10 per person and advance registration is required. Please call John Hammon, AARP volunteer instructor, at 655-4943. Classes fill quickly, so call as soon as possible.

This program is the country’s first and largest classroom refresher course designed specifically to meet the safety needs of experienced, mature drivers. It is an eight-hour class teaching defensive driving techniques, new laws, rules of the road and more. Older drivers learn how to adjust their driving to age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time.

Drivers 55 years of age and older who complete the course are eligible for auto insurance discounts under Maine state law.
