Wentworth Intermediate School held a Maine Student Book Award celebration in late April, in which 16 students read and reviewed five of the nominated books and voted for their favorite. Marilyn Taylor, Scarborough Public Library’s children’s librarian, was the guest reader. At the celebration, certificates were presented and ice cream enjoyed. After tallying the MSBA votes from students throughout the state, “The Tale of Despereaux” by Kate DiCamillo was declared the winner.
