The Standish Family Festival will take place this year on Friday, August 5 and Saturday, August 6. Fun events for the entire family will take place around town on both days.

On Friday, after sundown, there will be a “Drive-in Movie Nite” at Standish Memorial Park on Route 25.

On Saturday, the family festival parade kicks off at 10 a.m. The parade begins at the Old Red Church on Oak Hill Road, and concludes at First Technology on Route 35. If you are not in the parade, bring your lawn chairs, your blankets and your community spirit to cheer on parade participants.

Scout groups, athletic organizations, theatre and dance groups, Bonny Eagle school groups and athletic teams, civic organizations, church groups, day care centers, senior citizen groups are invited to participate. And anyone else who might want to join in are encouraged to do so. Please register your group on-line at www.standishrec.org or fill out a registration form in Clerk’s Office at Town Hall.

From 3 p.m. to dark, Kiwanis Beach will be the site of various fun activities designed for the whole family. The event is sponsored by the Standish Kiwanis Club. The evening is topped off with a fireworks display starting at dusk.
