Reitze holding mystery album

Ray Reitze is trying to locate the family or anyone who has information about a Lt. Col. Eugene R. Berky.

A Westbrook woman gave Reitze an album filled with photos of Berky along with World War II uniform patches and other memorabilia including the man’s dog tags and personal mail. He didn’t know how the woman had gotten the album.

Reitze is puzzled over who should rightfully get the album. He would like to give the album to the man or his descendants, but will hand it over to a historical society if no one comes forward to claim the album.

Berky was awarded a Silver Star for gallantry in action in 1944. He held the rank of captain in 1945. His wife’s name was Geneva Frey Berky and her address was once 521 Chestnut St., Emmanus, Pa.

Those with information or someone who wishes to claim the album should contact Reitze at 929-4600.
