Christmas is coming and Capts. Frank and Melissa Nataluk at The Salvation Army River of Life at 11 Bridge St. are gearing up for the holidays.

They are looking for volunteers to stand by their famous red kettles through Dec. 24. People can volunteer whatever hours are convenient for them.

The effort is dependent on volunteers, however. Those with the time to volunteer for a half or full day are welcome. Individuals, schools, service organizations, churches or any other group of people are welcome to join in the fun.

Knowing that people are helped at Christmas and throughout the year is a great feeling for anyone wanting to give of their free time. Kettle locations are in Westbrook and Windham. Year after year, the Salvation Army stretches every dollar donated due to volunteers.

“Many people across America annually donate their time as a volunteer to The Salvation as a part of their Holiday Season,” said Frank Nataluk.

Contact the Nataluks at 856-7729 to sign up as a bell-ringer volunteer and bring joy to the season.
