This weekend, the Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church is holding a festival to help show the effect the church has on the community.

The festival will be held downstairs at the Main Street church on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. until noon. Darlene Varian, chairwoman of the church’s Stewardship Committee, said the festival is designed to showcase all the various ways the church’s money is used in the church and the community. She said the idea for the festival grew out of the church’s annual pledge drive.

“What we decided to do is to show people what happens to their money and where it goes,” said Varian.

The festival will feature a wide range of displays from the various organizations that receive help from the church either financially or through the use of its building. In addition, there will be children’s activities, including a puppet show, face painting and more. Refreshments will also be served.
