Boating Industry magazine, a 76-year-old business publication regarded as the most authoritative and widely respected magazine serving the marine industry, has ranked Port Harbor Marine number 13 in its inaugural “Top 100 Dealers” listing.

Rob Soucy, general manager of Port Harbor Marine, which has a Lakes Region location in Raymond on Sebago Lake, says the company had set a goal to make the Top 100 listing, so the event invitation was exciting news.

“We had no idea what our ranking would be,” says Soucy. “They started counting down from 100, and when they starting naming the top 25, we knew we had done extremely well.”

The industry ranking was based on both quantitative and qualitative questions regarding all aspects of marine dealer operations.

“The top ranking is especially gratifying because it validates the high standards we strive for everyday, in trying not only to meet but surpass our customers’ needs and expectations,” Soucy said.

Port Harbor Marine is Maine’s largest boat dealership and one of the largest dealers north of Boston. The company operates Port Harbor Marine at Spring Point with 275 slips, and 105 slips next door at Breakwater. The staff has grown to approximately 70 at these two locations. Full range services include hauling, storage, repair and sales.

Other locations include the dealership and marina in Raymond on Sebago Lake with wet slips and dry storage for 150 boats; a sales and service location in Holden; an outlet store in Saco, a 44-slip marina in Bucksport Harbor, and a showroom and full service shop in Rockport.
