At left, is the grand opening ceremony for Home Depot, which took place Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. Store Manager Ann Marie Gordon is at the right of the stage. During the ceremony, Home Depot gave $2,000 to Crossroads for Women, an independent rehabilitation center located in Windham that has helped more than 6,000 women fight and overcome their chemical dependencies.

In this case, however, the ribbon was a board, which Store Manager Greg Tangen cut with a hand saw. The Lowe’s ceremony took place at 6 p.m. on Jan. 18 and served as a sneak preview for contractors, employees, families of employees and Chamber members. During the ceremony, Lowe’s donated $1,000 to Camp Sunshine, a Casco retreat for families of children coping with cancer. Courtesy photos
