Meeting

The Windham Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, Mar. 27 at the historical society headquarters, the old town house on Windham Center Road. Following the business meeting, a program will be presented about life in the Parson Smih House, by the owners, Reverend and Mrs. Dickinson. The public is invited and there is no charge.

Birthday Party

There was a combination surprise birthday party and retirement party for Joan Bowden Mar. 11 at the Masonic Hall. Her actual birthday was Mar. 17. There were more than 100 family members and friends joining her for this special occassion. Joan used to drive a van for the Windham School Department. The party was planned by her children, sisters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Meeting

The Windham High School Alumni Association will meet on Sunday, Apr. 2, at 2 p.m. at the Historical Society building on Windham Center Road to discuss further plans for the May 20 banquet. Anyone who attended Windham High School is welcome to come and help fold and stamp invitations to be mailed or to get more information.

Visits

Jody Doty, of North Carolina, came to town on Mar. 18 for the birth of her grandson. He was born on March 17 at Mercy Hospital. His name is Griffin and his parents are Kimberly and Steve Moreau of Haskell Road, and his great grandparents are Ed and Polly Varney of Nash Road. Griffin weighed in at 8 lb. 11.5 ounces.

Birthday Dinner

There was a birthday dinner in the dining room of Ocean View in Falmouth for Sue Hager on Mar. 12. Those celebrating with her were: husband, Bill Hager; mother, Betto Barto; daughter and family, Julie and Steve Morse with Acadia and Amelia; brother, Rollin Barto and mother and father in-law, Myron and Gladys Hager.

Meeting

The Rebekahs will hold Past Noble Grand Night Apr. 1 at the Odd Fellows Hall at 7:30 p.m. The program will be to plant a tree, and Joan Labbe is in charge of refreshments. The past Noble Grands are: Marge Hansen, A. Josie Morrell, Melissa Pecoraro, Priscilla Harrington, Elsie Haskell, Janet Waterhouse, Helen Stanton, Betty Harriman, Virginia Young, Rita Carey, Jerri Carro, Beulah Mason, Lorraine McLaughin, Judy Smith, Brenda Collett and Joan Labbe.
