Southern Maine Community College baseball player Anthony D’Alfonso was named as a United States Collegiate Athletic Association All-American on Wednesday at the USCAA baseball national tournament.
D’Alfonso, a freshman outfielder from Westbrook, started all 30 games for the Seawolves, who play both a fall and spring season. He led the USCAA in batting average (.508) and RBIs (61), and he also led his team in hits (57), doubles (15), triples (9) and runs scored (49).
The Seawolves finished the season at 21-9 and were Yankee Small College Conference regular-season champions.
