Harvest of Quilts

There will be an antique and contemporary quilt display in a historic setting at the Windham Hill Church Oct. 13 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition to the display there will also be a merchant’s mall. There will be a quilt raffle and door prizes. This is a fundraiser and there is a $5 admission.

Tea Party

The Second “Great Windham Tea Party” will be held Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Windham Veterans Center. Guest speakers are candidate for governor, Chandler Woodcock and Mary Adams. This is a rally for the Taxpayers Bill of Rights.

Veterans

Mr. Robin Shepard, state of Maine Veterans Advocate, will be available Oct. 11 from 9 to 11a.m. at the Windham Veterans Center. He will be assisting veterans in applying for benefits. This service is free and no appointment is necessary.

Meeting

There will be a meeting of the Smith Cemetery Association Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. at the Windham Public Library. They will hold their election of officers at that time.

Birthday

Polly Varney, Nash Road, celebrated her birthday Sept. 26. She enjoyed a quiet time at home with members of her family.

Concert

Josie Morrell, Kimberly Morrell and Charlotte and Wally Wyman, all of Gray Road, attended the Gaither Gospel concert at the Cumberland County Civic Center Sept. 30. They had a wonderful time.

Christmas Fair

There will be a Christmas Fair and Chinese Auction Nov. 4 and 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall sponsored by the Rebekah Lodge No. 71. Marge Hansen will also have some of her quilts for sale. There will also be a bake sale, crafts and food to purchase for lunch.

Supper

Don’t forget the public bean supper Oct. 7 at the Windham Hill Church from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The donation is $6 for adults and $2.50 for children 12 and under.
