Historical Society

The Windham Historical Society is closed for the winter. Inquiries regarding old houses, genealogy and other topics may be directed to Kay Soldier, kso48@aol.com or at home, 114 Tandberg Trail. For those who wish to purchase coverlets, books, maps and other items from the Society for Christmas gifts, Kay has a selection at her house. Call for more information, 892-5381. Football Game

Clarence and Liz Wisecup, Highland Cliff Road, recently traveled with friends to Philadelphia. They were gone three days. While there they attended the Army-Navy football game. Navy won, which pleased the Wisecups since their son serves in the United States Navy.

Meeting

The Windham Wheelers ATV Club will meet Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. in the East Windham Fire Barn. For more information contact Kevin Bailey at 892-0664 or Chris Charbonneau at 893-8246.

Visits

Jennifer Tom of Orlando, Florida recently spent five days here visiting with family. She stayed part of the time with her grandmother, Josie Morrell. There was also a birthday supper for her dad, John Morrell, Dec. 2.

Pet Food

There will be a pet food donation day Dec. 16 to benefit the Windham Food Pantry. It will be held at the Kennel Shop in Shaw’s Plaza. For more information contact Barbara Muir a 892-6096.

Meeting

The Rebekah Lodge No. 71 will meet Dec. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Odd Fellows Hall. Rowena Walton and Josie Morrell are in charge of refreshments. This will be an open house and their annual Christmas party.

Family Gathering

Lloyd Bennett’s son, Nathaniel, daughter-in-law, Nini and granddaughter, Emma arrived from Taiwan. His other son, Aaron and his girlfriend, Aubry, came down from Orono for the weekend and they all enjoyed a late Thanksgiving dinner at Lloyd’s girlfriend Kim’s house. Her daughter, Kali, along with the Taiwanese girl who came with Nate, Lloyd’s brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Jeanne Bennett and his sister Faye were also there. Kim’s daughter, Nikki and her husband Leon came over to start the “trash-can-turkey” but left soon after. The following weekend Lloyd’s daughter, Aimee, arrived from Florida. They will all get together for an early Christmas before they all go their own way again.
