A 17-year-old boy died as a result of injuries sustained when he was struck by a pickup truck around 5:30 p.m. Saturday night (Dec. 16) on Route 25 in Standish. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
According to reports, Frank Rideout of Standish was walking with a friend near the intersection of Route 25 and Woodcrest Road when he was hit and thrown more than 25 feet by a pickup driven by Lincoln Turner, 70, also of Standish. The other boy was not injured.
The accident is under investigation by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department.
