The sixth, seventh, and eighth grades at Bonny Eagle Middle School recently participated in the 14th annual Pi Day Math Celebration. Pi Day was held on Wednesday, March 14 since the first three numbers in the numerical representation of pi is 3.14, which is an infinite variable deriving from the Greek numerical system. Pi is used to factor circumference.

The middle school celebrates the day to foster creativity and enjoyment of mathematics by students. Participation is encouraged by using imaginative alternative ways of doing math. Students write essays and make special projects that are judged by middle school teachers. The project categories included poster, model, project, game/puzzle and essay, song, video, and poetry.
