Members of the Scarborough Police Explorer Post 883, from left, Derek Laflin, Grace Mckenzie and Ben Landry, recently graduated from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy’s Explorer Academy. The week-long program gave the Explorers an opportunity to experience what the actual police academy is like, in case they decide to pursue a career in law enforcement. The Explorers received training in areas from self-defense and arrest techniques to criminal law and marching.
