Patty and Terri Morris hold hands as they cross the finish line of the Beach to Beacon Saturday. This was the first race for the mother- daughter running duo, and they couldn’t have been happier with the results. Terri Morris, 78, of Scarborough, finished first in her division. She said having her daughter by her side kept her going, though Patty Morris, 49, of Cape Elizabeth, said it was the other way around. “I felt like she paced me.” She said her mother, who is a breast cancer survivor with 10 children and 14 grandchildren, has motivated her and her siblings to stay active. “She was biking and running before it was cool,” she said. “She’s just a great inspiration.”
