Fire and Rescue

Between Oct. 4 and Oct. 8, the Cape Elizabeth Rescue squad transported six patients to Maine Medical Center and two to Mercy Hospital.

On Oct. 7, at around 8 p.m., the fire department responded to an activated smoke detector on Cross Hill Road.

On Oct. 8, at around 11:45 a.m., the fire department responded to a gas leak on Oakhurst Road.

On Oct. 8, at around 12:40 p.m., the fire department responded to a wire burning on Fowler Road.

Killer cat

On Oct. 2, at around 4:30 p.m., a resident of the Cottage Farms Road area reported an opossum was killed by a cat. The cat was quarantined and the opossum tested for rabies.

Inside job

On Oct. 2, at around 6:40 p.m., a local retail store in the Ocean House Road area reported thefts by an employee. Police met with the employee, who confessed to several thefts.
