On Oct. 23, at around 8:45 a.m., a resident of Meeting House Road reported a burglary and theft of diamond earrings valued at $400.

Safe and sound

On Oct. 25, at around 10 a.m., an empty, open safe was found on the side of Highland Avenue near the South Portland border.

Check it out

On Oct. 25, at around 3 p.m., a resident of Pinoak Drive reported he had been a victim of fraud. The resident posted online a Star Wars action figure for sale for $30 on Craig’s List. The buyer sent him a check for $2,500 and said he had sent the wrong check by accident. He told the victim to keep $100 for his troubles and send back the remaining $2,400. The victim sent a check back for $2,400, before depositing the buyer’s $2,500 check, which eventually bounced.

Mailbox squashed

On Oct. 26, at around 4:30 p.m., a resident of Old Blue Point Road reported $25 in damages done to a mailbox by a pumpkin.

Test drive

On Oct. 27, at around 8:45 a.m., a 1997 Saturn station wagon was reported stolen from a residence on Pine Point Road. It was recovered the next day in Old Orchard Beach.
