Tim Flaherty agency acquired

Tim Flaherty Real Estate in Westbrook has been acquired by Prudential Northeast Properties, according to an announcement by Robert Norris, president of Prudential Northeast Properties, based in Bangor.

It will be known as the Prudential Northeast Properties Flaherty office, with 22 agents locally and more than 150 agents statewide to serve Maine consumers.

Tim Flaherty Real Estate has been a successful real estate agency in the southern Maine market for many years.

Tim and Marie Flaherty said in a press release that by joining Prudential Northeast Properties, “we now will have access to greater resources, a state-of-the-art technology platform plus expanded reach through a national referral system that enables us to serve buyers and sellers even better.”

Company executive in conference

Disability RMS, the Wesbrook-based provider of turnkey disability risk management products and services, has announced that Lisa Philbrick, vice president of claims, will participate Monday in a session at the Eastern Claims Conference in New York City. Philbrick’s session is titled “Selection and Use of Medical Reviewers and Impact on Litigation.”

The focus of the presentation is the role independent medical evaluations play in the claims adjudication process.

Philbrick brings more than 20 years of group insurance industry

experience to her position as vice president of claims. Prior to

joining Disability RMS in 2002, she worked for UnumProvident in a variety of leadership positions.

Lecture set at Bakery

Sasha Bezzubov returns to the Bakery Photographic Collective in Westbrook for his second residency. He will give a lecture on his images from his series called “Searchers,” which was made with Jessica Sucher on a Fulbright Scholarship, on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Bezzubuv graduated from State University of New York, Purchase and received a master’s in fine arts from Yale University. He is represented by the Front Room Gallery in New York City and Taylor DeCordova Gallery in Los Angeles.

Wedding plans

Marianne Latini of Westbrook and Jon Doucette of Portland have announced the engagement of their daughter, Justine Grace, to Shaun Adam Hoglund, son of Nancy Hoglund and the late Stephen Hoglund of South Portland.

Justine is the granddaughter of Peter and Marianne Latini and Claire and Larry Garvey of Westbrook, Donald and Linda Doucette of Westbrook and the late Janice Pinkham. Shaun is the grandson of Dorothy and Richard Butler of South Portland.

Shaun proposed to Justine at the Frog and Turtle Restaurant in Westbrook with a surprise barbershop quartet appearance. After the serenade, he got down on one knee and asked Justine to marry him. It was a surprise for Justine. Also in attendance were her mother, Marianne; brother, Jon; grandparents, Peter and Marianne Latini; cousin, Gabriella Latini, all of Westbrook, and family friend Julie Inman.

The bride to-be is a graduate of Westbrook High School and is currently attending college to earn her bachelor’s degree in education. She also works at Hannaford.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of South Portland High School and is an assistant seafood manager at Hannaford.

The wedding is planned for July 28, 2012.

Dahms on dean’s list

Christopher Dahms has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Wheaton College in Norton, Mass.

A junior, Dahms is a 2005 graduate of Westbrook High School. He is currently studying economics and Italian in Rome, Italy.

Dahms is the son of Larry and Maureen Dahms.
