View eight fabulous homess in the heart of the Maine Lakes Region during the Naples Public Library house tour Thursday, Aug. 7. Enjoy viewing luxurious new construction as well as 19th century homes filled with history. This year’s tour includes seven beautiful houses and the Union Church, a National Historic Register site.

Five of this year’s tour houses are luxury home constructions built since 2006. They feature a timber framed home, “Lost Point Lodge,” and “Crown Point on the Causeway,” a 7,000 square foot renovation of a former restaurant. This home boasts a private theatre and stunning views of both Long Lake and Brandy Pond.

For the history buffs, the 2008 tour offers a look at an immaculately maintained century old farmstead with breathtaking views of Mount Washington. Also shown is the Richard Manning House, originally built for the uncle of Nathaniel Hawthorne. This lovely home features period furnishings and a 500 year old Chinese screen.

Tour hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Refreshments will be served at one of the tour stops. Tickets for the home tour are $20 each and can be purchased at the Naples Public Library on the Naples Causeway.
