Local food pantries have additional items on their shelves thanks to employees of Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution.
As part of the bank’s fall United Way campaign, branch employees in Saco, Biddeford, Old Orchard Beach, Scarborough and South Portland and the Saco Operations Center donated 418 cans, bags and boxes of nonperishable foodstuffs.
The food and the bank’s matching donation of $418 has been distributed to six community organizations: Salvation Army Food Pantry, Old Orchard Beach; Saco Food Pantry, Saco; York County Shelter Programs, Alfred; Jeanne Davies Memorial Food Pantry, Old Orchard Beach; Stone Soup Food Pantry, Biddeford; and First Congregational Food Pantry, Scarborough.
