The following is a selection of calls received by the Bridgton Police Department from Jan. 20-23.

Quick work

A Kennebunk woman reported on Jan. 20 that her son’s and three others’ snowboards were stolen the previous night at Shawnee Peak. The woman said the boards were unsecured in front of the lodge for only five minutes.

Prank call

On Jan. 21, a manager at Bridge Crossing requested extra patrols because of a prank call they received the night before. The caller had asked, “Have you checked the children lately?”

Orphaned cat

An employee at the Bridgton Veterinary Hospital called for the animal control officer on Jan. 22. The caller said a cat was left on the steps outside the hospital.

Cardboard on the loose

On Jan. 22, a Mechanic Street man reported that Subway restaurant employees weren’t placing boxes correctly in the Dumpster, and the cardboard was blowing all over the place.

Just married?

A Mt. Henry Street man called on Jan. 22 to report a loud snowmobile with cans tied to it, which made it even louder. The caller said the snowmobile traversed a trail off Mt. Henry Road every night around 9 p.m. The caller was referred to the Maine Warden Service.
