A ‘Historical’ event

Because of the overwhelming response (more than 150) to the Windham Historical Society’s recent program on the Cumberland-Oxford Canal, the Society is repeating the program for those who were unable to attend.

The program will be presented Saturday, Feb. 21, at 9:30 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Little Meetinghouse (small white church) on Route 302, North Windham across from Arlington Cemetery, near Boody’s Corner between the No. Windham Union Church and the Auto Parts store. Parking is available in the back. It would be very helpful if you could RSVP to Kay Soldier at kso48@aol.com.

Pet food ‘Thank you’

Thank you to everyone who donated to the pet food drive for the Windham Food Pantry at the Kennel Shop on Saturday, Jan. 31. People were so very generous and it warms the heart on a cold day to know people are so willing to give when the economic times are so bad now. To say thank you doesn’t seem enough. The animals and their owners will be so appreciative. You’ve all done a wonderful thing and your donations will help people keep their pets at home rather than having to give them up. Thank you, and thanks to the Kennel Shop and the great crew for being so helpful with the collecting. You’re the best!

Happy Anniversary

Malcolm and Mary Lyons celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary Feb. 5. They have lived in Windham 65 or 66 years. They enjoyed a family dinner on this very special occasion.

Thought of the Week:

This day wouldn’t be the same without you.
