Jim Daniels, an international photojournalist with a career spanning three decades, has recently made his favorite photographs available to the public for purchase. To celebrate this new venture, there will be a grand opening reception on Friday, March 27 from 4:30-8 p.m. at the Baxter Place Building, 305 Commercial St., Portland. The gala will feature 30 photographs on view, with a silent auction of the framed prints on display. Unframed prints ordered the night of the show will be $275, or available anytime online for $300 at jimdanielsphotography.com. The impetus for this new collection is a sober one – Daniels was recently diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer. Proceeds from the sales will go towards The Jim Daniels Fund to help the Portland-based photographer with his medical bills.
