BRUNSWICK — Leslie E. Totten, 91, died March 19 at Amenity Manor in Topsham.

He was born in Brunswick on Oct. 3, 1917, a son of Oswald and Lillian (Proctor) Totten

Two years after graduating from Brunswick High School, he married Yvonne “Dolly” Kidder in 1937.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as an aerial gunner on a B-29 in the Pacific Theater.

After his return, he worked at Theberge Bros. Linoleum Shop in Brunswick. In 1958, he opened his own store, Totten’s Linoleum Shop, and ran it for 16 years.

Upon closing the shop, he and his wife traveled extensively along the West Coast, eventually returning to Brunswick in 1979 to sell their home and retire to Florida. They moved back to Maine for their final retirement.

He was predeceased by his wife “Dolly,” brothers, Oswald Totten Jr., and Earl Totten and sisters, Violet, Daisy and Pansy.

Surviving are his son, Charles Totten and his wife, Donna of Topsham, his daughter, Brenda Hicks and her husband, Larry of California; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held earlier this week.
