YARMOUTH — Vanessa Farr will replace Dawn Emerson as the town planner on April 6.

Emerson was town planner for five years. She left to pursue other interests, Town Manager Nat Tupper said.

Farr most recently was land use coordinator in Somerset, Mass. She was previously the town planner in Swansea, Mass. Tupper said she attended the School of Urban and Regional Planning in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, and received a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies. She also studied planning theory and urban transportation planning at the Brooks College of Oxford, England.

“She has a great energy, good ideas and a strong work ethic,” Tupper said. “We are excited for her to begin work next week.”
