CUMBERLAND — Initial state subsidy information for fiscal 2010 was delivered to school superindentents late last week and the numbers “look positive” for School Administrative District 51, School Board Finance Chairman Tom Shepard said.

Though figures won’t be finalized until the Legislature votes, SAD 51 is expected to see a increase of $231,000 over this year’s funding. While some other area school districts, including Yarmouth, expect similar increases, not all were as lucky. Cape Elizabeth expects a $500,000 decrease.

The School Board Finance Committee was scheduled to discuss this latest
information on Thursday, April 2. The board will take public comment at its meeting on Monday, April 6.
