BRUNSWICK — Brunswick Park and Gardens will hold the final two sessions of its garden series at the Curtis Memorial Library on May 3 and May 11. 

The May 3 discussion will begin at 1 p.m. at the Morrell Meeting Room and feature Jeff Deetz, a 1975 Bowdoin College graduate with a doctorate in biochemistry from Ohio State University. Deetz, an associate vice-president at Wyeth BioPharma, will discuss various types of lady’s slippers and other rare orchids. 

The May 11 discussion will be held at 7 p.m. Mike Sowers, Cumberland County master gardener, will hold a garden workshop “Gardening to Attract and Conserve Beneficial Insects and Spiders”.
