A Standish woman is facing attempted murder and other charges stemming from an incident in April that left her husband with serious head injuries and her with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

Linda Dolloff, 47, was arrested this afternoon and charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of elevated aggravated assault and one count of filing a false report, state police said. She is being held at Cumberland County Jail.

Deputies from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office were called to the Dolloff residence at 230 Dolloff Road early in morning of April 12 after Linda Dolloff reported a shooting. At the scene, deputies were met at the door by Dolloff, 47, who then collapsed due to a gunshot wound to the stomach. Jeffrey Dolloff, 53, who was found in the bedroom, suffered head injuries, apparently from a beating. Linda Dolloff told police that the couple had been attacked by an intruder.

Now it appears that prosecutors believe Linda Dolloff was to blame. State police said today that they have investigated the incident for the past two months, and that District Attorney Stephanie Anderson made the decision to arrest and charge Dolloff.

Jeffrey Dolloff’s grown daughter and another person were asleep in an adjacent apartment but did not see or hear anything, Lt. Brian McDonough of the Maine State Police said at the time of the incident.
