SOUTH PORTLAND — Youth Alternatives Ingraham, a social service agency at Brick Hill, is giving residents four ways to help the less fortunate this holiday season.

People can host a “Giving Tree” in their workplace, with tags representing items needed by YAI clients.

Another way to help is YAI’s “Adopt-a-Family,” where the agency will provide a detailed wish list from a family in need and individuals can buy any number of those items. Wish lists can range from 10 to 30 gifts. For those unable to help an entire family, YAI has an “Adopt-an-Individual” program, which provides two- to three-item wish lists.

Cash donations are always welcome, too.

YAI can only accept new items. Wrapped gifts should include a description of the enclosed gift. Donations may be dropped of at YAI’s Family Center, 50 Lydia Lane, on Dec. 8 and 9. Pick-ups can also be arranged. For more information, contact Katie Howard at 523-5031 or khoward@yiamaine.org
