FALMOUTH — An Elm Drive resident gave the town a “brake” recently – and an engine, seats and steering wheel – when he donated a 2001 Ford Expedition for the Police Department to use during winter storms.

Frank Langlois gave the town the vehicle, which is valued at $10,000. After reviewing options with Langlois, Town Manager Nathan Poore said he expects the town will use the Expedition as a trade to acquire a smaller, four-wheel-drive vehicle that could be used for site and building inspections, as well as by the police.

Falmouth now uses an older-model Jeep for inspections.

In a Jan. 25 press release, Poore said, Langlois “has enabled the town to equip itself in a manner that is not possible with current budget challenges. … We are very grateful that he thought of us when he decided to donate the vehicle.”
