2/8 at 3:30 p.m. Leslie W. Mackin, 52, of Brookside Drive, was summonsed by Officer Kevin Conger Jr. on a charge of assault.

Sunny with a chance of fraud

2/5 at 10:59 a.m. Someone in Florida used a credit card number belonging to a Church Street resident to open a checking account in the sunshine state. Police said $300 was stolen in the I.D. fraud, which is now under investigation.

Batting practice

2/6 at 7:03 a.m. In one of several related instances along Blackstrap Road, a resident called police to report damage to his mailbox. Though the sound of an explosion led him to believe the box had been blown up, police determined it had been hit by a baseball bat.

Sawsall, saw nothing

2/9 at 2:46 p.m. A Tidewater Cove resident reported a new Makita Sawsall reciprocating saw was stolen from his unlocked garage sometime overnight. The saw was valued at $250.

2/11 at 6:58 a.m. Fire alarm, Aster Lane.
