BANGOR — The American Medical Association is presenting an award to Maine Gov. John Baldacci for his work promoting public health.
The Bangor Daily News says the Dr. Nathan Davis Award is to be presented to Baldacci at an AMA conference in Washington today.
Baldacci is one of nine recipients among public officials of the award, which is named for the AMA’s founder. Baldacci is being recognized for his work leading to the creation of Dirigo Health, Maine’s state-subsidized health insurance program.
