BRUNSWICK — Maine’s congressional delegation says former workers at the Brunswick Naval Air Station will get another $2.5 million to help them with their expenses as they retrain for new jobs.
The Labor Department’s grant will serve an additional 400 workers affected by the closure of the Maine base.
The latest grant follows an initial grant of $1.2 million in 2005 and $2 million in 2008, bringing total funding to $5.7 million serving 700 workers.
The funding helps unemployed workers to upgrade their skills to attract potential employers.
