BANGOR — The man suspected of killing a 15-month-old baby in Bangor will be back in Maine soon to face murder charges.
Twenty-seven-year-old Edgard Anziani of Lawrence, Mass., was arrested Monday in Bladensburg, Md.
Deputy Attorney General William Stokes says Anziani has waived extradition and agreed to return to Maine.
Stokes says two Bangor detectives are planning to drive to Maryland next week and return with Anziani, probably on Wednesday.
Baby Damien Lynn was pronounced dead Feb. 23.
Anziani told police the child fell down a flight of stairs.
The Bangor Daily News says an autopsy found that the boy’s injuries included broken bones, head injuries and a human bite mark that were not consistent with a fall.
